I think the Council took the right action in getting a new Garbage Company.  However, I would hope that the Mayor and Council have learned from the past mistakes and take their time and negotiate wisely this time.  I would also hope they do a better job at letting the community know what is in the final contract once it is complete.

Emo the T-Ball Diamond is located on what use to be a Sand Volleyball pit.  Before that it was grass and a concrete slap for bikes to be parked.  The pool was acually located where the open area with the trees and playset is.  It would be nice if the Millinum Group could build a pool out at their park.

JAF11.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.  And I am sorry you feel that way about me even if you don't really know me.  Shows a lot about yourself and how you judge people.  Your right I resigned from my committees the last 6 months in office.  There were good reasons why and if you would like to know why I resigned you are more then welcome to stop by my house anytime to hear my side before passing judgment on an open forum.  However, the people in my ward obviously don't feel the way you do.  Because since leaving the Council I have had numerous calls, e-mails and people coming up to me to asking if I would get back on.  After all there is more to being an Alderman then just talking for the sake of talking in meetings  It is a 24 hour a day 7 week job.

 JF22 I think you are a little confused.  I am not running for City Council.  Second if I wanted to infuriate Minonk or any other town I would of put all the rumors I have heard in my editorial.  But those are rumors I stick with the facts. Third I guess I am guilty of gaining some thing out of my editorial and that is rallying people to be for the district and not for individual towns.
News Subject: City Council rejects Butler as City Treasurer - 05/12/2009 -

I read these minutes from the council meeting and it just made me laugh.  Do some people in town have anything better to do then complain about the small petty things? A golf cart issue? It you want to ride golf carts so bad move to Florida or Arizona to a retirement village or join a country club. Then you would have something to do besides complain.  Flowers, fertilizer and cooking out in front of a STORE oh my! This is a bad thing for a business to do for the community?  Complaining about open alcohol at an event that was put on to raise money for someone who is sick?  Please!  Aren’t there more important issues to worry about then these things?  People who worry about these issues are not making Minonk a very appealing place for people to stay in or move to.

Emo what makes the stop signs illegal in Minonk? I wouldn't think anything the Public Safety Committee and the "Governing Body" of Minonk the City Council passes would be illegal.
Editorial Subject: Fieldcrest Test Scores Must Be Improved - 11/09/2009 -

Dave I agree the test scores should be a lot better at Fieldcrest.  However I would like to see the statistics on how many students are athletes and if those students score poorly.  Student Athletes are held to higher standard when it comes to grades or they are unable to play.  I would also like to see the stats on how many athletes are in the top 10 of their class compared to students who do not go out for athletics.  As far as your strong statement on dropping contact football.  I would like to see facts and figures on why you would state such a claim concerning High School Football.

I would like to respectfully disagree with Alderman Cunningham about the questionaire on the prosposed nature trail.  What harm would it be to get feedback from the taxpayers and the voters?  Does the voices of the community on these issues not matter?  I hope this is not the thinking of all on this small town government.  If so this reminds me of our U.S. Government when it came to the Healthcare Bill.  NOT GOOD!
